Avril Cecilia (Ingham) Letourneau

Avril C. Letourneau, 77, of Laurel, Delaware passed away on September 2, 2017.  Avril died peacefully at home following a long illness from breast cancer.  Born on April 4, 1940 in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England, Avril traveled extensively and  lived in Germany, Cyprus, England and Spain before finally settling down in the Washington, D.C. area.   Avril was a Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps nurse on active deployment to Cyprus when she met her (now deceased) former husband, Charles E. Letourneau CDR, USN (Ret.)  Avril is survived by her daughter Celeste Letourneau; her son Andrew Letourneau; four grand children Rhea Leath, Julian Leath, Bryan Letourneau and Sean Letourneau; and her family in England, including her sisters Barbara Machin and Julia Ingham, her brother John Ingram, niece Nicola Machin and nephew Alex Ingram and various other family members. The family will celebrate Avril’s life with a private memorial at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice (DE), or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation .
