Genevieve W. (Wright) Jones

Genevieve W. Jones, formerly of Salisbury died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past four years.

 Born in Sharptown, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Harrison Wright and Consuella (Brown) Wright.  Her late husband, Daniel W. Jones, Sr. died in 2006.

She was a graduate of the former Old Salisbury High School.  She served for several decades as a school bus contractor for the Wicomico County Board of Education.

 She was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Fruitland where she served as the substitute Pianist, member of the Usher Board and the United Methodist Women.

 Her civic and community involvement included former volunteer of the Junior Board Auxiliary at the former Peninsula General Hospital, now Peninsula Regional Medical Center and member of the Salisbury High School Alumni Assoc.  Additionally, she served as a member of the Order of the Golden Circle, John H. Jones #284 where she was Past Loyal Lady Ruler, Past State Grand Loyal Lady Ruler and Past Queen Esther, Myra Grand Chapter. She also served as Past Worthy Matron and Past District Deputy Grand Matron of the Naomi Chapter # 16, O.E.S., P.H.A.

 Her survivors include three children: Annette Mann and Daniel W. (Lois) Jones, Jr., all of Ocean Pines, MD and Dr. Thomas W. (Dorianne) Jones of Columbia; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

 A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may view 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury and on Saturday at the church, one hour prior to service.  Fraternal rituals will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
