Salisbury – Gertie Mae Appleby, 81 died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury.
Born in Daisy, GA, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Albertha (Lee) Brown. Her late husband Rev. Henry Appleby, Sr. died in 1995.
She was employed with the Holly Center in Salisbury for more than 20 years.
She was the co-founder of Trinity Tabernacle Church & Community Center where she was the church mother.
Her survivors include seven children: Pastor Thomas (Anitra) of Springfield, MO, David of Nashville, TN, Nathan (Delores) of Columbus, OH, Nathaniel of Cumberland, MD, Priscilla of BelAir, MD and Rev.’s Henry, Jr. and Daniel (Kay) Appleby, all of Salisbury, MD; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; five siblings, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
Two siblings preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at New Dimensions Ministries in Salisbury. Friends may view on Friday from 6-8 pm at Trinity Tabernacle Church & Community Center in Salisbury and on Saturday, one hour prior to service at New Dimensions Ministries. Entombment will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2016 at Springhill Memory Gardens Mauseleom in Hebron, MD.
Services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury, MD.
