Salisbury- Raymond (June) Jones, Jr., 84 died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Snow Hill, he was the son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Beulah (Powell) Jones.
He was a graduate of the former Worcester High School. He matriculated at the former Bowie State Teachers College, now Bowie State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. He also did graduate studies at Penn State, receiving a Master’s equivalency.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in the 1950’s, receiving an honorable discharge.
He was an educator for 40 years, serving as the principal at the former Little Red School House in Stockton, MD and teacher at West Seaford Elementary School, retiring in 1999. He was also employed at the former and Johnny’s and Sammy’s Restaurant for several years and E.D. Supply Co., both of Salisbury.
His survivors include his wife of more than 60 years: Martha Jones of Salisbury; three children: Raymond Jones, III and Angela Jones of Salisbury, MD and Raynard Jones of Baltimore; one sister-in-law: Jeanette Thompson of Newark, DE; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Jolley Memorial Chapel, P. A. in Salisbury, where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment TBA.
