Floretta Virgina White, 80, San Domingo, Mardela Springs, Maryland, affectionately known as ‘Flo, Auntie Flo, or Mom Flo,’ peacefully departed this earthly life on April 20, 2024, at Tidalhealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on April 25, 1943, in Vienna, Maryland Dorchester County, to the late Willie Kellon Harris and Nellie Levota (Jackson) Harris.
She received her formal education from Dorchester County Public School system, where she graduated from Mace’s Lane High School in 1961. Subsequently, Floretta attended Salisbury State College, presently known as Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland.
Floretta was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Isaac B. White Jr., for 59 years. She was also an awesome mother to her three sons, Isaac, Terence, and Ira. After forty-three years of dedicated service, she retired from Dove Pointe in Salisbury, Maryland. Floretta was quite an active member of Zion Church of San Domingo, Mardela Springs, Maryland, and active in her community. She belonged to the Friends of San Domingo, United Women of Faith, Charge Choir, Director of Children Choir, and the Administrative Council.
Flo enjoyed cooking, sewing, making crafts, gardening, making her famous money trees and corsages, and being a Ravens fan. She was kindhearted and caring to her family and others. Flo will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
She leaves to treasure loving memories, her husband, Isaac B. White Jr., sons, Isaac Bernard White (Bernadette), Terence White (Cynthia), and Ira White Sr., (Lauren), seven grandchildren, Isaiah White (Nicole), Ikea White, Ariel White, Ira White Jr., Kade White, Donald Burton Jr., and Layla Tharle, a great-grandson, Jayce White, sister, Delores Molock, brothers-in-law, Morris White Sr., Wilbert Hollis, Leonard White, Irwin White, sisters-in-law, Dequata Hollis, Carolyn Wheeler, Renee White, and Beverly Hart, several loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Floretta was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Kellon Harris and Nellie Levota (Jackson) Harris, siblings Russell Harris, Alfreda Jackson, Glendola Williams, Willie Harris, William Harris, Ernestine Cephas, and Nathlea Evans, twin sister Loretta Colbourne, and Velma Brown.
