Ann (Conway) Johnson

Upper Marlboro - Ann Conway Johnson died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Angels Alert Care Inc. Facility in Upper Marlboro, MD

She was the youngest daughter of the late Rev. James A. Conway and Irene Wright Conway was born in Clara, MD.  Her late husband Rev.Charles A. Johnson, II preceded her in death.

Ann received her formal education in the public schools of Wicomico County, graduating from the former Salisbury High School.  She matriculated Atlantic Business College and Strayer Business School.

She retired from the US Department of Justice after 40 years as an Administrative Assistant.  She also was formerly employed with the Prince George's County Board of Education and the United Methodist Church.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Oxon Hill, MD where she was active on various committees.

Her survivors include one son Walter B. (Kayla) Savoy, Jr of Atlanta, GA; three step-daughters: Charlynne O. and Crystal A. Johnson, both of Baltimore, MD and Caron A. Johnson of Landover, MD; four grandchildren: Winston, William, Wesley Savoy and Dominque Persey, all of Atlanta, GA; four sisters-in-law: Beverly Johnson of Silver Spring, MD, Florence Ray of Kennesaw, GA, Joan Askew of Forestville, MD and Joan Conway of Clara, MD and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her daughter, Cara A. Savoy, and seven siblings: Lorenzo Conway, Sr., Mary Ernestine Holbrook, Ruth Conway Jones, Arwilla Hart, Barbara Derrickson, Vaughn Conway, and James A. Conway, Jr. preceded her in death.

 A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at Jolley Memorial Chapel, PA, where friends may view one hour prior to service.  Interment will be at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, Maryland

Services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel, 213 Jersey Road - Salisbury, MD.
