Brother Dennis W. Green, the son of the late Walter and Edna Green departed this life on Monday February 19, 2018 at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center.
Brother Green was born in Hebron, Maryland on April 21, 1930. He received his childhood education and grew up on the eastern shores of Maryland.
He was united with The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in 1957 under the missionary work of Presiding Elder Norman Hubbard, Sr.
Brother Green met Sister Josephine Shelton in 1960 and they married on October 27, 1961 in Chance, Maryland. They lived in Norfolk, Virginia for a spell and then moved to the District of Columbia in1968.
Brother Green proved to be a hard worker and was appointed Senior Deacon of the Washington DC Mission in August 1973 under Bishop E. Gabriel Bell.
Brother Green also served as the maintenance supervisor for Victor O. Schinnerer Insurance from 1969 until her retired in 1995.
Brother Green loved to work with his hands. He had a green thumb and loved to harvest his backyard garden every summer. He was also a tinkerer that enjoyed taking things apart and then putting them back together. Even in his retirement he built a scale cardboard city that he was very proud of, and would invite any and every one that came to the home to tour.
Brother Green leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mother Josephine Green, his brother Paul Green, his sister Novella Green, his daughter Sister Debra, and her husband Brother Kenneth Hammond, his grandson’s Darnell Hubbard, and Daniel Hubbard, his great granddaughter’s Sister Kiara June Hubbard, and London Rose Hubbard.
