Dover – Edward (Ed) William Waters, formerly of Berlin, MD, died Friday, August 24, 2018 at Kent General Hospital – Bay Health in Dover, DE.
Born in Snow Hill, MD, he was the son of the late Catherine Waters and Rodney Hudson.
He was formerly employed as a police officer with the Mt. Vernon Police Department; former cook with Castle In the Sand in Ocean City and formerly owned and operated E.& J Lawn Service in Berlin, MD. He was also employed in construction and mechanical services and with the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover as an attendant.
He attended a local church in Dover, DE.
He was a member of Lincoln Lodge # 53, F&AM, PHA in Berlin, MD.
His survivors include his wife of 33 years: Jerdeane Waters of Berlin, MD; children: Anthony (Teresa) Smith of Killeen, TX, Timothy (Jimmie) Smith of Laurel, DE, Edward (Kathy) Waters, Jr. of Louisville, KY, Monique Waters of Charleston, S.C., Kem (Cynthia) Waters, Tykhruma Waters, and Marcus Foreman, all of Salisbury, MD; Ericka Brown of Georgia, Edward Fountain, of Mt. Vernon, NY, Stephen (Maria) Waters of Florida; a host of grand and great-grandchildren; one sister: Queen Dennis of Salisbury, MD; two sisters-in-law: Grace Gray of Salisbury, MD and Mildred Handy of Frankford, DE and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
Two brothers, Sylvester Hudson and Robert Waters preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at New Collins AME Church in Snow Hill, MD where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment will be private.
