James "Blueberry" (Jr.) SmithJune 6, 1928 ~ November 18, 2017 (age 89)
James Smith , Jr., the son of the late James Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth Fitchett was born in Cape Charles, Virginia on June 6, 1928. He peacefully departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. For the past few years, he had been a resident of the Wicomico Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury, MD.
“Blueberry,” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, received his formal education in the public schools of Northampton County, Virginia. As a young man, he relocated to the Salisbury area where he made his home until his death.
“Blueberry,” was formerly employed with the former Oliphant Chevrolet Dealership in Salisbury, MD where he detailed cars. He later became self-employed, selling used cars.
He possessed a kind-hearted, friendly and jovial spirit. He loved playing cards, billiards and especially loved to detail cars. He will be greatly remembered for his infectious smile and his love for cars.
He leaves to cherish loving memories with two children: Tamarra Smith of Salisbury, MD and Alphonso Collins of Virginia ; one sister: Arbella Fitchett of Georgetown, DE; several nieces, nephews other relatives, extended family and friends.
