Louise Mary Gunther

Salisbury – Louise M. Gunther, 89 died Monday, January 2, 2017 at PRMC in Salisbury, MD.

Born in Nichols, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah Richardson and Julia (Worley) Stephens.

She was employed as a seamstress for over fifty years.  She was employed with the former Lady Salisbury Classics of Fruitland, Gant Shirt Factory of Salisbury and retired from Duo-Sofa/Sealy in Salisbury, MD.

She was a member of Weeping Mary Full Gospel Baptist Church in Salisbury where she served as Church Mother and member of the Senior Choir. 

She was also a volunteer in the Foster Grandparent Program with Shore-Up, Inc. in Salisbury, MD.

Her survivors include five children: Wanda Lee Gunther of Detroit, MI, Paulette (Martin) Finney of Seaford, DE, Joyce (Jerry) Coleman of Salisbury; David of Wilmington, DE and Mervin (Ernestine) Gunther of Salisbury; several grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; three siblings: Thelma Towns of Florida, Lula Mae Isler of Georgetown, DE and Mexico (Elizabeth) Stephens of Fruitland, MD; several nieces and nephews.

Three children: Kay Francis Gunther, Joanne McKelvey-Morris and Shirley Gunther Asby and six siblings preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held noon, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Weeping Mary Full Gospel Baptist Church in Salisbury where friends may view two hours prior to service.  Interment will be Monday, January 9, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.
