Margaret A. Harris, 81, of Seaford, DE, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Richard Cuffie and Reba Jenkins. Her first late husband, Linwood Burbage and her second husband, William Harris, preceded her in death.
She was formerly employed with State of Delaware, retiring after 19 years.
She was a member of Tabernacle of Prayer For All People in Salisbury, MD, where she was church mother and a prayer warrior. She was called “Mother Poem” by her church family because she enjoyed writing and reading poetry.
She attended Nanticoke Senior Center in Seaford, DE.
Her survivors include five children: Lorrianne (Arthur) Hopkins, Linwood (Celestine) Burbage, Reba (Perry Thomas) Truitt, Richard (Gloria Spates) Burbage, all of Seaford, DE, Emery (Altamese) Burbage of Middletown, DE; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister: Myrtle Cuffie of Camden, NJ; four sisters-in-law: Frances Cuffie, Floretta White, Delores Mollock and Viola Cuffie; several nieces, nephews and friends.
A grandson and a great grandson: Dishawn and Lennier Burbage; nine siblings: Emma Williams, Viola Williams, Ethel Piggott, Louise Singletary, Freddie Cuffie, Melvin Cuffie, Charlie Cuffie, Richard Cuffie and Paquita Cuffie, all preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held noon, Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Clarence Street Church of God, 744 Clarence Street, Seaford, DE, where friends may view two hours prior to service.
Interment will be in Macedonia AME Church Cemetery in Seaford, DE.
