Preston James Foreman, Sr.

Preston James Foreman, Sr, born in Berlin, MD, April 17, 1933 was the son of the late Rayfield Foreman and the late Elizabeth (Purnell) Foreman. He peacefully departed this life Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.

He received his former education at Newark School in MD.

Preston faithfully served in the United States Armed Services, receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.

He was an active member of Calvary U. M. Church in Berlin, MD, serving on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, and the Men’s Choir.  He was also a member of the Men’s Tristate Choir.

Preston was a faithful member of several local organizations: Lincoln Lodge No. 53 and the American Legion No. 231, both of Berlin, MD, King David Consistory No. 284-Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonary-Prince Hall Affiliation Southern Jurisdiction of U.S. of Americas, Inc. TN, Valley of Salisbury for the Orient and State of Maryland, and the ABU-LAHAB Temple No. 206 A.E.A.O.N.M.S, both of Salisbury, MD.

He leaves to cherish his memory; four children: Deborah V. Dillard of Beachwood, NJ, Sandra M. (Briddell) Bowen of Fayetteville, NC,  Preston J. (Ruzella) Foreman, Jr. of Edgewood, MD and Tony A. (Tammy) Foreman, Sr. of Berlin, MD; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four sisters: Edna Tinley of Berlin, Lillian (Albert) Johnson of Millsboro, DE, Axsie Worrell and Beatrice Washington, both of Bridgeport, CT; two brothers: Leon Foreman, Sr. of Berlin and Samuel Foreman of Bridgeport, CT; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

His wife: Naomi Constance (Briddell) Foreman, and siblings: Rayfield Foreman, Jr. and Julia Waters, all preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 24, 2019 at Calvary U.M. Church, Ironshire Station Rd, Berlin, MD, where friends may view two hours prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
