Salisbury – Ranson (Chan-man) Chandler, Sr., 65, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.
Born here, he was the son of the late Nancy Chandler Moody and Ranson Carter, Sr. He was reared by his late grandparents: Noah (Dock) and Corine Chandler.
He was a 1970 graduate of James M. Bennett Senior High School where he excelled in football, track and field.
He was formerly employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at PRMC, Wicomico, Genesis and Anchorage Nursing homes, as well as others in MD and VA.
His survivors include a wife: Jacqueline Chavers Chandler, three children: Ranson Chandler, Jr., Tyrecka (Sallie) and Megan Chandler, three stepchildren: Irvin Chavers, Jamaal Christian and Jameelah Chavers; 20 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; seven siblings: Diana Chandler Banks (Walter), Priscilla Walker Jones (Frank), Tonja Carter Burden (Adam), Erica Carter, Joseph Chandler (Norma), Winfield Chandler (Bonnie) and Ranson Carter, Jr.; one goddaughter: Rochelle (Nikki) Corbin and a host of nieces and nephews.
Two sisters: Rosemary Chandler and Sonja Avette Carter preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at noon., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury where friends may view two hours prior to service.
