Rosalee D. Brooks Johnson (Little bits) was born on Tuesday, February 14, 1922, in Fruitland, Maryland. She is the daughter of the late John and Annie (Gale) Brooks. She peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
In her early years, she attended school in Salisbury, Maryland. Later she received her education from the former Princess Anne College, now University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown, DE and Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, MD. She was an educator in Laurel, DE, and in Retail Management in Philadelphia, PA. She also worked as a social worker in Salisbury, MD, and caregiver for several families in Maryland.
Rosalee believed in service to the community; formerly serving as the President of the PTA and Officer of the NAACP Chapter in Laurel, DE. She also worked in the mentor program in Fruitland, MD. She was an active and faithful member of her home church Mount Calvary United Methodist Church where she served in various capacities.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter: Constance Green-Johnson of Matthews, NC, and fifteen grandchildren and a host of great grands and great-great grands, and nieces and nephews.
Rosalee was preceded in death by husbands: James Johnson, and Emerson Green; and two daughters: Carolyn Green Hopkins and Annette Green, and eight siblings.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, 205 N. Division Street in Fruitland, MD, where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery
