Eden – Annie Marie Jones, 93, formerly of S. Upper Ferry Road in Eden, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Regency Care of Silver Spring in since 2015.

Born in Allen, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert W. and Winifred (Polk) Dennis.  Her late husband Douglas L. Jones died in 1982.

She was a 1941 graduate of the former Frederick Douglas St. Clair High School in Cambridge, MD.

She was formerly employed as a seamstress with the former Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury.  She was also formerly employed with Arby's (Delmarby) Corp. of Salisbury.

She was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Allen where she served on the Senior Choir, United Methodist Women and the Kitchen Committee.

Her civic involvement included a member of the MAC Center and a founding member of The Thomas Elzey Polk, Sr. Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers of Salisbury.

Her survivors include one daughter: Gloria (David) Quick of Gaithersburg, MD ; two grandchildren: Derrick (Kellie) Quick of York, PA and Lori (Ronald) Hill of Gaithersburg, MD; three great-grandchildren: Sydney, Garrett and Brielle Quick and a host of nieces and nephews.

Eleven siblings preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Friendship U.M. Church, S. Upper Ferry Road in Allen, where friends may view one hour prior to service.  Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Monday at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.
