Argatha Nancy Hudson Rodgers, formally of Snow Hill, MD, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her home in Philadelphia, PA.
Born in Snow Hill, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George Randolph Hudson and Lola Amanda Holland Hudson. Her late husband James Rodgers preceded her in death.
She was employed for over thirty years as a seamstress for Amalgamated Clothing Industry in Philadelphia. She was an active member of the Gospel Temple Baptist Church.
She served on the tenants council committee of the senior apartment complex where she resided. They were inspirational in assisting tenants with voter registration and distribution of food to the disabled.
She is survived by two sisters: Betty Ann Coleman of Halifax, VA and Elizabeth B. Hudson of Salisbury, MD; three brothers: George Hudson of Philadelphia, PA, Paul and William Hudson, both of Snow Hill, MD; one sister-in-law: Ida Hudson of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Three sisters: Flossie Louise Hudson, Julia Mae Hudson Moore and Gladys Jane Hudson Manuel Jackson preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Coolspring United Methodist in Girdletree. Maryland. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
