Obituary

Arnold LeRoy King, better known as "Arnie", was born on December 12, 1952. Arnie transitioned to the Ancestors, February 20, 2025 at home on 441 West Market Street in Snow Hill, Maryland. He was born the third child to Mary B. King, and LeRoy O. King. Arnie earned two Master's Degrees from Boston University: A Master of Liberal Arts and a Master of Sociology in 1990. He also earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Boston University in 1986 and an Associate's Business Degree from Massasoit Community College in 1983.

Arnie, had an extensive history of program activity and community service. He provided leadership to the life of many human beings in chains and to their families. He offered workshop presentations and counseling to youth in Massachusetts for over 40 years. The schools and agencies with whom Arnie has worked include The City School in Boston, Milton Academy, Roxbury Youth Works, Department of Youth Services, Brighton High School, Westport High School, Hastens House, Project Hip Hop, Odyssey House, Northeastern Family Institute, Alliance House, and Saint Mary of the Angels Parish.  Arnie, was also a published author of articles, commentaries, and research projects in local community newspapers and national journals.

As a youth, Arnie was an athlete. He won a championship with People's Baptist  Basketball team (1966), he played Big league Baseball (1965). Later, life hobbies included writing poetry. Arnie's commitment to family and community was his biggest achievement.

Those family members who preceded him were, Sister Darlene King, Brother Alan King, and Brother Daniel King, Father LeRoy King, and Mother Mary King.

He is survived by his wife, Kate, his brothers Kazi (Myriam) and John (Jeannie); sisters Marva (Anthony) and Kelly; stepdaughter Wakeitha; sister-in-law Gwen, and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
