Avril Elizabeth Davis, 71 years old, from Bamboo, St. Ann, Jamaica Sunset: December 20, 2024, Waldorf, Maryland USA

Born November 26, 1953, in the beautiful parish of St. Ann Jamaica to parents Irene McKenzie and Rupert Davis. As a child, she attended Bamboo Primary School. When she was 14, she moved with her family to Salisbury, Maryland, where she attended James M Bennett High School. She went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in science from Long Island University. She worked in New York for several years before moving back to Maryland to be closer to her family. She worked for the state of Maryland as a claims adjuster for over 25 years before she retired. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and travel.

She loved spending time with family and celebrating life. She had a great love of music and dance. She had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. She is preceded by her grandparents, Sis (Ellen) and Nathaniel Mitchell, her loving mother, Irene McKenzie, her father, Rupert Davis, her stepfather, Felix McKenzie; and her siblings, Leonie Jones and Donald Riley.

She is survived by a big and loving family Uncle Cyril Mitchell and Aunt Winifred Mitchell, a stepmother, Edris Davis, Siblings: Vera Dacres, Judith Dacres, Yvonne Gould, Bancroft Davis, Alexander McKenzie, Anne Marie McKenzie, Gloria Post, Robert McKenzie, Caleb Joshua "CJ" McKenzie and Copeland McKenzie, Ellis McKenzie. She has many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family all over North America, and Jamaica. She will be truly missed. She was deeply loved.
