Bettie Wolfe Collins, 84 of Salisbury, died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Charleston Senior Living Community in Waldorf, MD.

Born in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Caroline Wolfe.  Her late husband, David Collins died in 1989.

Bettie graduated from Lincoln High School in Frederick County and matriculated at the former Maryland State College, now the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD, receiving a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education.  She did further studies at Penn State University, receiving a Master's degree in Family Economics and Resource Management and the University of Maryland, College Park receiving certification as an Advance Graduate Specialist in Adult Education.

She retired after 45 years with the University of Maryland Extension where she was Professor Emeritus and an Extension Educator and Family and Consumer Scientist.

Her civic and community involvement included: member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury where she was active on various committees and programs; member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Omega Chapter in Salisbury, MD; AARP, Maryland Retired School Personnel Administration, member of the UMES Alumni Chapter and creator of the WBOC former "At Home Today Show."

Her survivors include her caregiver, Colenthia (Eric) Malloy of Brandywine, MD, a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Wesley Temple U.M. Church where friends may view Thursday evening from 6-8 pm and again on Friday, one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.

The "Ivy Beyond the Wall" ritual will be held 6:30 pm on Thursday evening.
