Obituary
Betty (Betty Boop) Lee Bertrand, 64 died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.
Born in Snow Hill, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Maude (Wilkens) Timmons.
She was a former employee of the Peninsula Roofing Company, where she was the Warehouse Manager.
Betty was an active volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America, Tri-County District for over 30 years. She began as a Den Leader and elevated to Cub Master of Pack #156 in Pittsville, MD. She went on to become the Assistant District Commissioner and Camp Master at the Henson Scout Reservation in Sharptown, MD. Her most recent scouting experience was as the committee chairperson of Pack #223 in Hebron, MD. Betty was humbled and excited to see the children of her former scouts now participating in the Boy Scouts.
Betty is survived by her husband of 47 years, Raymond E. Bertrand, Jr.; three sons: Raymond E. III (Jennifer), Reed (Becky) and Richard (Amy) Bertrand; four grandchildren: Raymond, IV (Tiffany), Amethyst, Kithian and Dustin and three great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
A celebration of life will be held for Betty at the Gumboro Community Center in Gumboro, DE, noon, Sunday, March 30, 2016. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
