Blayne's Journey
Blayne Brittney Sample, the beloved daughter of Dwight A. and Valerie A. Sample, was born on July 12, 1992, in Salisbury, Maryland. Blayne peacefully transitioned to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the age of 33, surrounded by loved ones. At the age of three, Blayne discovered her love for dance at Salisbury Dance Academy, training in ballet, tap, and jazz. Dance became a powerful form of self-expression, reflecting her grace, creativity, and joy. She later joined the St. James Liturgical Dance Team, where she performed with dedication and passion. Dance remained a meaningful part of her life and a reflection of her vibrant, expressive spirit.
Blayne was a bright and creative soul whose life was characterized by grace, determination, and a deep love for self-expression. She attended Bennett High School in Salisbury, Maryland, where she graduated in 2010, formed lasting friendships, and began exploring her passions. Throughout her many career pursuits, Blayne remained dedicated to personal growth and professional development. She later graduated from Delmarva Beauty Academy in 2018, where she trained in the beauty arts and took pride in her craft, with a focus on hair and nail artistry.
Above all else, Blayne's greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a devoted mother to her two beloved sons, Ashton and Colby. Her love for them was unconditional, fierce, and unwavering, and they were truly the center of her world. Every decision she made was guided by her desire to protect, nurture, and uplift them. She poured her heart into making sure they always felt safe, supported, and deeply loved.
Blayne's love for her family extended far beyond her children. She shared a strong and meaningful bond with her parents and remained deeply connected to her family, cherishing time spent together and valuing the relationships that shaped her life. She also shared a special connection with her brother, Blair, her only sibling, and the love between them was evident to all who knew them.
In addition to her parents, sons, and brother, Blayne was excited to become an aunt to her two nieces, Aubree and Kendra, and her newest nephew, Brayden. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandmothers, Rosa Lee Parker and Maudie Goslee; her aunt, Denise Coston; her uncles, Anthony Parker and Ken Hayward; and her godmother, Phyllis Ricketts. She is also remembered by her special friends, Tara, Alana, Tiara, Cohren, and Jalisa, as well as a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends.
Blayne was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Elton Coston Jr. and Robert Goslee; her aunt, Annette Coston; and her special friend, Ja'Tare Gibbs.
