Sr.

Obituary

CARLOS ANTONIO REID, SR. A Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend

… First Quarter … Carlos delighted his parents, Eola E. Reid and Claude B. Treherne, Sr., when he entered this world on February 9, 1979, in Nassawadox, VA. He was a precocious child who was always into everything; Carlos was extremely active and the family daredevil.

… Second Quarter … Carlos was educated in Salisbury, MD, and received his diploma from Wicomico High School in June 1997. While in high school, Carlos met and fell in love with NaChell Coulbourne. Upon graduation, Carlos moved to Bowie with his mom and attended T.E.S.T. College where he earned a certification in Massage Therapy. Following their higher education, Carlos and NaChell reconnected and made a home in Laurel, MD. They welcomed their first bundle of joy, Carlos Jr. (affectionately calling him "Los"), in 2000. Soon after he was born, Carlos and NaChell were married. They welcomed a second child, Caris, in 2011. … Third Quarter … Carlos was a Jack of all trades – he could do just about anything he put his mind to and was great with his hands. He honed many skills, but Carlos spent most of his professional career performing cabling jobs and barbering. As a matter of fact, Carlos was a self-taught barber who was well sought after in his community. His clientele was multi-generational because Carlos had the privilege of servicing many families. Carlos was a very avid, lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins but never embraced the new team name, refusing to refer to his favorite team as The Commanders! He was also very passionate about coaching youth football and was devoted to his team, Unity Thunder, for four years. Carlos loved to laugh and have fun; he was the goofy life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with friends and hosted memorable backyard barbecues, among other forms of entertainment. Carlos never met a stranger, and his family will greatly miss the random text messages he sent. Caris and Los were entertained by their dad's singing and dancing, although he wasn't great at either. … Fourth Quarter … Carlos was an amazing cook with a huge heart. He also had a lot of jokes and loved to entertain; for his special gifts, Carlos will be deeply missed. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Carlos leaves a loving family to rejoice in his memory:  wife -- Nachell Reid; two children – Carlos, Jr. and Caris Reid; father -- Claude B. Treherne, Sr. (Shirley); grandfather -- George Treherne; three brothers and one sister – Derrick (Vanecia) Parker, Tina (Ray) Alburg, Shawn Treherne and Steven (Mellisha) Treherne; 12 nieces and nephews – Kyree, Ka'Ron, Dehric, Daeja, Jaelin, Niles, Ta'Shawn, Qamar, Caia, Kayleb, Londyn, and Mason; three great-nephews – Logan, Parker, and Koah; one great-niece - Emrie; two uncles – Willie Lewis (Annie) and Alfred (Patricia) Treherne; seven aunts – Wyomie Doggett (Levi), Naomi Turner (Welton), Mallie Burruss, Linda (Gary) Giddens, Vanessa (James) Simmons, Renee Knox, and Helen Treherne; and a host of cousins, other family members, and countless friends.

Carlos has joined many family members in the Kingdom of God: mother, Eola E. Reid; grandmothers, Lavinia M. Reid and Addie Smith; grandfathers, Fred Taylor, Sr. and George Treherne; brother, Claude B. Treherne, Jr.; nephew, Ramon A. Alburg, Jr.; niece, Tayanna Brown; two uncles, Booker T. Taylor and Fred Reid, Jr.; and two aunts, Estelle Thomas and Allean Williams.
