Craig Donnell Gaines affectionately known as Donnie to many, was born July 8, 1960 in Salisbury, MD to the late Phillip and Barbara-Jean Gaines. Donnie was the third of six children. He was proceeded in death by three siblings: Celestine “Tina” Smart, Clarence Gibson and Phillip “Pebbles” Gaines Jr. He is also proceeded in death by his nephew Brandon Kennedy. 

After a lengthy illness, Donnie passed away peacefully on July 13 th , leaving behind his passion for automobiles, and an unwavering devotion to his friends and family.

Donnie was educated in the Mardela High school system, graduating with the class of 1979. It was during these years that he developed his love for automobiles andrepairing them. He enjoyed solving mechanical problems and found great satisfaction in working with his hands. In his free time, he also enjoyed playing horseshoe, drag racing and spending time with his friends.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Donielle “Neka” Gaines and his grandson Cam’Ron “CamCam” Green; his sisters, Phylistine “Sissy” Gaines (Stan) and Velma Morris; his brother-in-law Wade Smart. He also leaves behind his nephews PhilJuan, RJ, Tavone, Bryan and Jonathan; his special cousins Pinky and Marsha; his devoted friend Debbie; and a vast host of other relatives and friends who were near and dear to his heart.

Though he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him his spirit, his love, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
