Edith Louise Wallop, 85 died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her Victoria Park Apartment in Salisbury.
Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret (Nairne) Trader. Her late husband, Edward Wallop, Jr. died August 9, 1980.
She was employed for many years as a domestic engineer. She also was a sharecropper along with her husband, working for Alec Malone and Bobby Williams farms.
She was a devoted member of Mt. Enoch Holy Church for over 60 years, where she served as Church Mother, Communion Stewardess, Prayer Band Member, Senior Choir and the former Middle District Senior Choir member.
She received a certificate as a 50 year member of the Middle District of Mt. Sinai Holy Churches of America, Inc.
Her survivors include five children: Shirley (Theodore) Chase of Baltimore, MD; Audrey (John) Jones, Jimmy (Kathy), Wanda and Edward Charles (Lena) Wallop, all of Salisbury; seven grandchildren: Stacy Wallop, Sonia Chase and Jamie Wallop, all of Upper Marlboro, MD; Edward Demont (Kim) Wallop of Virginia Beach, VA and Carlos (Lavonya) Dashiell and Johnedia and John Jones, III all of Salisbury, MD; eight great grandchildren; one sister: Beulah Hutt of Salisbury, one aunt: Nora Hodges of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers: Edgar and Vaughn Trader and three sisters: Roxie Cottman, Georgia Hutt and Dorothy Palmer preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Mt. Enoch Holy Church, 28055 Rockawalkin Ridge Road in Salisbury where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8:00 and on Saturday, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
