Edward (Ed) Joseph Mitchell, III, 60 of Hebron died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at PRMC in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Salisbury, he is the son of Geraldine (Birckhead) Mitchell Robinson of Hebron and Edward J. (Betty) Mitchell, Jr. of King George, VA.
He was a 1973 graduate of Mardela High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was employed as an overnight stocker at Walmart- South in Fruitland, MD. He was also the owner and operator of Ed's Lawn Service in Hebron.
He was a member of St. Luke U.M. Church in Hebron where he served on the Men's choir, Usher Board, vice-president of the United Methodist Men, Trustees and Lay Servant. He was also a member of the Salisbury Urban Ministries and his church's weekly soup ministry.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tracy Johnson Mitchell of Hebron; five daughters: Dawn Mitchell-Price, Kourtney Mitchell, Brittany Jones and Janiya Mitchell, all of Salisbury and Janae Collins of Princess Anne; four grandchildren, six siblings: Edwina Mitchell of East Orange, NJ, Michelle (Darryl Mason) Mitchell of Upper Marlboro, MD, Linda Mitchell of Easton, MD, Ricardo Birckhead and Lamont Handy, both of Hebron and William Mitchell of Salisbury; several aunts, uncles, great aunts & uncles and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Mt. Enoch Holy Church in Salisbury. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may view Friday, October 23, 2015 from 6-8 pm at St. Luke U.M. Church in Hebron and on Saturday at Mt. Enoch Holy Church, one hour prior to service.
