Ocean City - Eleanor Holmgren, 89 died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Cofski) Winnicki.  Her first husband, David Mangum died in 1973.  Her second husband Archie Holmgren died in 1998.

She retired after more than twenty years as an underwriter for USF & G Insurance Company in Baltimore.

Upon her retirement, she made her home in Ocean City, Maryland.

"Ellie," as she was affectionately known, loved living close to the water and loved basking in the warm sunshine.  In her earlier years, she loved to travel and was an avid bowler.

She leaves to cherish loving memories with one daughter, Karen Albers Hall and her husband, Thomas Hall, two granddaughters: Kim Albers of Ocean City and Wendy Burns (Kevin Hamor) of Fruitland, MD and twin great-grandchildren: April and Kevin Hamor.

A daughter, Daleen Burns preceded her in death in 2008.
