Elizabeth I. (Libby) James, 73, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her Deal Island Road home in Princess Anne.
Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Tavola (Leonard) Tilghman. Her late husband, Thomas Henry James, Sr. died in 2010.
She was formerly employed with the former Princess Anne Sewing Factory and Winton-Gouge Hatchery, Inc,, both of Princess Anne.
Her survivors include four children: Monique (Murray) Whitfield, of Manalapan, NJ; Lisa and Russell James of Baltimore; and Carol (LeRoy) Milbourne of Princess Anne; three stepchildren: Katrice James of New Carrollton, MD; Maria (Charles) Jones of Salisbury and Ronald Cox of Pocomoke; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother: Mackenzie (Peggy) Sterling o Dallas, TX; five sisters-in-law, a special niece: Julia Hayward and a host of other nieces and nephews.
A son: Thomas James, Jr., grandson: Derris James, granddaughter: Cashay James and sister: Joyce Johnson preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Metropolitan U. M. Church in Princess Anne. Friends may call Jolley Memorial Chapel on Friday evening from 6-8p.m. and on Saturday, at the church, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Metropolitan U.M. Church Cemetery in Princess Anne, MD.
