Berlin – Elmer C. Duffy, Sr. (Uncle Beaver), 79 died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, MD.
Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Bertha (Parker) Duffy.
He retired after thirty-four years from the former Hudson Litter Products, now Coastal Forestry Products of Pittsville, MD. He was also self-employed in trash removal for twenty-six years.
He attended Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville, MD.
His survivors include his wife of 47 years, Irane Duffy of Berlin; four children: Linda (Robert)
Duffy Smith of Cedarville, NJ; Cindy (Kevin) Duffy Clark and Bertha Brown, all of Bridgeton, NJ and Betty Hightower of New Castle, DE; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren, one sister: Hazel Briddell and one daughter-in-law: Carolyn Duffy, both of Berlin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A son, Elmer C. Duffy, Jr. and a brother, Eli Duffy preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Berlin, where friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
