Obituary
Salisbury – Elwood James Towers, Jr of Salisbury, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.
Born in Denton, his parents and sister preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his dearest and closest companion, Gladys. The "homeless man and his white dog" were well recognized from their travels throughout the Salisbury area in the last 15 years. Elwood loved the outdoors and his "WORK;" the proceeds of which were often shared with others in need.
His adoptive "family" would like to thank the business and professional community and the thousands of people that took the time to help him, say a kind word, or give Gladys a pet or pat on her back. Those things are what made his life meaningful.
A gathering of memories reception will be held noon, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury. Yes, Gladys will be there to welcome all guests.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
