Esther Ree Sutton was born on May 3,1942 to the late Otelia Hayes Sutton and the late Hayward Sutton Sr. in Wilson, NC. She departed this life on January 14, 2025, peacefully in her home. Esther better known as "Boot" received her education in the Wilson County School Systems. She relocated to Berlin, MD in the early fifties and Bridgeville, DE in the early sixties. She was formerly employed with Allen Family Food until 2011 when she retired to care for her great- grandson, Cameron Sutton-Quailes. Cooking, feeding the community, shopping (primarily Boscovs), raising animals, finding a good yard sale, spending time with her family, caring for children and going to the food bank were many of her favorite past times. She accepted Christ and attended Williams Chapel Church in Bridgeville, DE.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Otelia Hayes Sutton and her father, Hayward Sutton Sr.; her sisters, Ruby Barnes and Geraldine Edwards ; her brothers, Roosevelt, George, and Hayward Jr. Sutton ; her son, Isaac Holland Sr. and her great-grandson, Zay Carter. Cherished memories are left to her five children, George (Roketa) Holland of Salisbury, MD ; James Holland of Berlin, MD ; Rosalind Dorsey of Bridgeville, DE ; Dana (Lisa) Sutton of Laurel, DE ; Wallace Showell of Rehoboth, DE. Five bonus children, Wade Weal of Greenwood, DE ; Benita Solola of Greenwood, DE ; Owena (Jason) Davis Providence, RI ; Alvin (Regina) Handy of Belin, MD; Anthony (Venita) Johnson of Bridgeville, DE ; A special grand-daughter Desira' Sutton (McArthur) of Bridgeville, DE ; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
