Obituary
Salisbury, Everett William (Billy) Waller, 85 died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Salisbury/Genesis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Ella Winder Purnell and Everett William Waller, Sr.
He was a 1948 graduate of the former Salisbury Colored High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict, receiving an honorable discharge in 1956.
He lived most of his life in New York City and was employed as a foreman for the Custodial Department of the New York City Public School System.
He returned to Salisbury a few years ago and made his home. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury. He was also a member of the Salisbury High School Alumni Association.
His survivors include two daughters: Sharon McKinzie of New York City and Ella Waller of Lake Mary, Florida; one son-in-law: Ricky; two grandchildren: Charla and her husband Christopher and Kurtis; devoted cousins: Darlene Drummond and David Trader; a very good friend: Joan Jolley and a host of other cousins, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 plm., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Jolley Memorial Chapel, 1213 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD where friends may viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury.
