FRANKLIN'S JOURNEY

Franklin Stevenson Smith Jr., also known as Frank, was the son of the late Franklin Stevenson Smith Sr. of Vernon, MD and Nellie Blye Garrison Smith of Clara, MD. He was born and raised in Salisbury, MD on October 25, 1957 and gained his wings on January 24, 2022.

During his youth, Frank was well known for his athletic abilities. He was a star baseball and tennis player with numerous accolades including a feature in the Salisbury Times. Frank graduated from Wicomico High School and went on to Morgan State University where he studied biology for three years. He met and married Cathy Lee Holbrook of Salisbury, Maryland in 1985 and made three beautiful children. Frank started a career at Giant Food, where he made a lasting impression on all who knew him. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them how to swim, stay fit, and play multiple sports. One of his favorite past times was taking his grandchildren on daily walks around the neighborhood.

He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Stevenson Smith Sr., his mother Nellie Blye Garrison Smith, and several loving aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Cathy Smith, three children Ashlee & Clark Cordell, Adrian & Nathaniel Williams, Aigner Smith, nine grandchildren Jaedan Williams, Carmen Cordell, Ariyah Cordell, Christian Williams, Chloe Cordell, Ada Smith, Carys Cordell, Chase Williams, and Aubree Williams, sister Patricia Bess, brother Darryl Smith, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
