Frederick D. (Freddie) King, Sr., 68 died Monday, August 15, 2016 at his home in Salisbury, MD.
Born here, he was the son of the late Ollie and Mary (Cottman) King.
He was a 1966 graduate of James M. Bennett High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War, receiving and honorable discharge.
In 1969 he enrolled at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD, receiving a B.A. degree in industrial arts.
He taught Industrial Arts for over five years at Sudbrook Middle School in Pikesville, MD.
He was a member of Friendship U.M. Church in Allen, MD. He was also a former member of the VFW Post #10159, Salisbury and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
His survivors include his wife: Barbara A. King of Princess Anne, MD; three children: Jefferson (Michelle) King of Baltimore, Frederick (Daughn) King, Jr. of Columbia, MD and Christine Jones of Salisbury; six grandchildren; one sister: Mary Fields of Slaisbury; one aunt: Marie Miller; four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers: Ollie, Jr., Wilbert and Gable King preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held noon, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury where friends may view one hour prior to service
