George Henry Mason (Dizzy), 79 of Snow Hill died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at PRMC in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Snow Hill, he was the son of the late Frank Mason and Carrie (Taylor) Mason Bratten. His late wife Gertrude (Bishop) Mason preceded him February 2014.
George retired after 29 years from the former Crown Cork & Seal in Fruitland, MD. He was also formerly employed with the former Dresser-Wayne Co. and Worcester County Roads.
He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church – Taylor's Gate in Snow Hill where he served as Trustee, Usher, choir member, groundskeeper, cemetery sextant and other boards within the church.
His survivors include five children: Barry (Jacqueline) Mason of Mt. Vernon, NY, George Knox, Starr (Ricky) Wyatt, all of Baltimore, MD, Georgette (Kenneth) Shockley of Fruitland, MD and Crystal (Michael) Fountain of Snow Hill, MD; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; three siblings: Irma Mason Blake of Philadelphia, PA, Edwin Mason of Newark, DE and Elizabeth Taylor of Snow Hill, MD; two aunts, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves a special friend Barbara Lewis of Salisbury, MD.
A grandson, Ryan Mason, great granddaughter, Riley Champagne and brother Leroy S. Taylor preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at New Dimensions Ministries, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD. Interment will be in St. James A.M.E. Church – Taylor's Gate in Snow Hill, MD. Friends may view on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6-8 pm at St. James A.M.E. Church – Taylor's Gate and on Saturday at New Dimensions Ministries, one hour prior to service.
