Herman James Waters, the son of the late Stephen and Sarah Jane (King) Waters was born in Wicomico County on November 27, 1919. He peacefully departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Anchorage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Wicomico County (Fruitland), Maryland.
He was a World War II Army veteran serving his country, until receiving an honorable discharge.
Mr. Waters was employed as a farmer for many years. He also retired from Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a life long resident of the Salisbury/Fruitland area.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He possessed a very quiet spirit and was a very private person.
He leaves to cherish loving memories with his daughter and son-in-law: Vicky and Christopher Liggett of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren: Kamal, Rasheedah and Ozell Liggett; several great-grandchildren; one sister: Virginia Parker of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend: Mary Townsend of Fruitland, MD.
