Howard Franklin Bell, 85 died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Princess Anne.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late William F. and Ollie Mae Bell. His late wife Julia Bailey Bell died in 1997.
After graduating from high school in 1947, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for over 20 years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. He was a member of Fleet Reserve #347 in Salisbury, MD.
He was employed for 25 years with the former Union Trust Bank in Salisbury, retiring in 1992 a Branch Manager. He was also formerly employed with the former Oliphant Chevrolet of Salisbury.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, MD where he served on the United Methodist Men, choir and Finance Committee.
His survivors include several nieces, nephews, including his caretakers Donnie and Joan LaRue of Princess Anne; great nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 407 Oxford Street, Pocomoke City, MD where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment will be 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock.
