Berlin – John L. Mumford, III (Brother), 62 of Harrison Road in Berlin, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at the home of his mother in Millsboro, DE.

Born in Whaleysville, he is the son of Christal (Worthington) Banks and the late John L. Mumford, Jr.

He was a 1972 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, where he excelled in basketball.

He was employed as a seasonal worker for various companies in Ocean City.

He was a member of Tyree A.M.E. Church in Berlin.

Besides his mother, other survivors include three daughters: Tierra Johnson of Georgetown, DE, Tanganyika and Dawn Manuel, both of Berlin, MD; three grandchildren; three siblings: Marieka (Fredrick) Lawrence of Greenville, SC, Nolan (Angela) Banks of Middletown, DE and Brenda Mumford of Millsboro, DE; two aunts and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Tyree A.M.E. Church in Berlin, where friends may view one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
