January 9, 1943 – June 12, 2025
Kenneth Howard Miles Sr., affectionately known as "Duck," was the baby of twelve children born to the late Otho A. Miles and Nette V. Miles of Salisbury, Maryland. He was born on January 9, 1943, and departed this life on June 12, 2025.
Duck, as he was lovingly called by family and friends, attended the public schools of Somerset County. He held several jobs throughout his life, including positions at Green Giant, Campbell's Soup, cleaning offices in downtown Salisbury, Sunshine Laundry, and various handyman roles. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades.
Duck began his Christian walk at the family church, St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Later in life, he joined Unity Christian Fellowship and was also a member of Glory International Ministries, where he was affectionately known by the members as "Pop Miles."
He loved working with his hands as a carpenter and built two additions to his home and a garage. He also assisted with remodeling projects at his church. Duck enjoyed drinking Pepsi and eating peppermint candy. He also liked playing games on his tablet and watching wrestling, Family Feud, and Judge Judy.
Duck leaves to mourn but cherish his legacy. Wife, Mayfield Miles (New Church, VA), and children, Kenneth H. Miles Jr. (Cumberland, MD), Donte (Nakisha) Miles (Glen Burnie, MD), Keisha Miles (Salisbury, MD), Sherry Blake (St. Petersburg,FL), Marquita Blake (Philadelphia, PA), Oshay Blake (Abingdon, MD), and Odell (Carla) Blake (Salisbury, MD). He also leaves to cherish his legacy of thirteen grandchildren, three sisters Eleanor Hayward (Salisbury, MD), Patricia Precia, Shirley Holden (Philadelphia, PA), one brother, Oscar (Barbara) Miles of Salisbury, MD and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Darius Miles, four brothers Otho Miles, Ogia Miles, Carl Miles, and Calvin Miles. Three sisters Ethel Hayward, Myrtle Miles, and Janice Miles.
He loved his family deeply and always made sure everyone was alright. He had a big heart.
