SALISBURY – Leroy (Roy) Duffy, 74 died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his home in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Princess Anne, he was the son of the late Alfred and Sarah (Holbrook) Duffy.
Leroy was formerly employed as a truck driver for the former English's and U.S. Foods, where he retired. Upon his retirement, he was employed with the Maintenance Department at Salisbury University.
He was a member of St. Michael Church of God in Christ in Princess Anne where he served as a Deacon and Usher, Transportation Committee, the Good Samaritan/Big Brothers and Senior choirs.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Beverly Duffy of Salisbury; five children: Wanda (Jerry) Lee of Wilmington, DE, Ronald (Stacy) Lewis of York, PA, Leroya "Nikki" Duffy, Nathan Duffy, and Antoine Bizzare, all of Salisbury MD; three adopted children: Shirley (Leroy) Redding of Denver, CO, Janesta Ray of Wilmington, DE and Robert Gattis of Smyrna, DE; adopted brother: Roscoe (Gwen) Handy of E. New Market, MD; adopted sister: Tyiesha Duffy of Salisbury; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two aunts: Edna McCarthy and Leslie Jones and a host of nieces and nephews.
A son Jason Lewis preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2016 at New Dimensions Ministry, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may view Thursday from 6-8:00 pm at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury and on Friday at the church, one hour prior to service.
