Obituary

Levin Joseph Williams Jr., 65 of Mardela Springs, suddenly and sadly departed our world on July 26, 2019 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Levin spent many of his years in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He was born on July 9, 1954 in Salisbury to the late Florine Williams and Levin J. Williams Sr.

Levin graduated from Mardela Middle High School, where he was notoriously known as "Junior", played and participated in a myriad of sports and activities. He was well known and revered by his friends. Following high school, Levin enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 20 years, retiring as an E-8 Master Sergeant. During his career in the Military, Levin proudly held such positions as a Combat Engineer, Construction Equipment Supervisor, Drill Sergeant. Retiring after 20 years of military service, Levin continued his career in government work as a Supervisor for the U.S. Postal service for another 24 years posthumously.

Levin accumulated a plethora of military honors in which he proudly touted such as the Army  Service Ribbon, the Bronze Service Star National Defense Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, 6 army good conduct medals, 3 overseas service ribbons, the Army Achievement Medal Oak Leaf Cluster, the 1st Silver Oak Leaf Commendation Medal, a Meritorious Service Medal Oak Leaf Cluster, a Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and M-16 Expert Rifle Badge. His extensive military education included Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer System Courses, NBC Defensive eCourses, Sapper Leader Courses, Drill Training, and Strategic Mobilization.

In Levin's leisure time, he enjoyed such hobbies as hunting, fishing, martial arts, carpentry, and playing pool. Levin belonged to his much-loved motorcycle club, "The Travelers M.C.", where he held a long list of lifelong friends, and was again, well known by the community of men and women within the biker community. Levin also held memberships at both the V.F.W and American Legions where he comingled, and at times, mentored other veterans.

In addition to his parents, family members who preceded and prepared a place for our loved one are his sisters: Doris L. Robinson and Linda Cotton.

Levin, our angel and champion, leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife, Gail Williams of Mardela Springs; 4 children: Felicia Jackson, Brittany Williams, Brittany and Gregory Landers; a grandson Kamari Jackson; a son-in-Law, Tyrell Jackson; 4 brothers: Arnold Camper, Calvin Williams, Rodney Johnson, and Darnell Cotton; 2 sisters: Arlene Hird, and Brenda Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
