Obituary

Linneth E. Wilson, the daughter of the late Melvin and Elsie Savizon was born in Portland, Jamaica, BWI on March 7, 1938.  She peacefully slipped away from this earthly life into life eternal on Monday, December 16, 2013 in her home in Salisbury, MD.

Linneth received her formal education in the public schools of Jamaica.  Understanding the need to be self-sufficient, she left school at an early age to work.   She continued to study on her own, educating herself.

She relocated to the U.S. in 1989 and made her home in Florida and later in New York City.  While in New York, she became a caregiver to a family.  This family took her in as part of their own.

In 2005, she was involved in an accident and broke her leg.  In 2006 she relocated to Salisbury, MD to be near her daughter.

She became a member of New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a member of their Prayer Ministry Team.

Linneth was a blessing to her family, friends, church family and community.  She possessed the gifts of hospitality and intercessory prayer. She was a "nurse by birth," meaning that she took special care of her family and those in need.  She gave "tough love."  She not only loved her biological children, but all children.  She gave "until she was full;" a Jamaican term meaning she gave more than she received.  She was a hard worker and an excellent homemaker. She opened up her home to many of her nieces, nephews and friend's children, providing an environment that made them feel welcomed, valued and cared for.  Although she possessed a quiet spirit, she was a no-nonsense person.  Whatever she did for you, she did from her heart.  Her philosophy in life when it came to giving was, " what your right hand does, your left hand doesn't need to know."  She did not believe in boasting about the things that she did for others.  "Whatever she did, she did it as unto the Lord."  She was independent and never complained about anything.  Over the past three years, Linneth was instrumental in organizing a Bible Study once a month at the Lodges complex where she lived.  She loved God and would not allow anything to come between her and the time she would spend with Him.  She had a set time for her devotion each day.

She leaves to cherish loving memories with nine children: Dennis (Leonie) Roper, Angela Crawford, Austin King, Noel (Janet) Wilson-McKenzie, Jacqueline (Paul) Jennings, Keith (Mary) Wilson, Joyce (Brian) Thompson, Norman (Jullete) Wilson and Desmond (Opal) Wilson; thirty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four sisters: Nellie Morrison, Etta Grand, Blanche Savizon and Marie (Queenie) Savizon, three brothers: Carl, Ben and Princeton Savizon, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.

Last, but not least, her youngest son: Osmond Wilson preceded her in death in 2011.
