SALISBURY – Marian M. Johnson, 89 of Penn Street died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Hebron, she was the daughter of the late Shelton and Lena (Dashiell) Brown. Her late husband, Robert Hawkins Johnson Sr. died in 1971.
She retired after more than twenty years of employment with the former Campbell Soup Co., Inc. of Salisbury. Upon her retirement she opened the former County Kids Daycare in Salisbury.
She was a devoted member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury where she served on the Senior Choir and was a lifetime Missionary. She was also the former Den Mother for the former Boy Scouts PAC #379 of Salisbury.
Her survivors include four children: Anthony (Carol) Johnson of Fruitland, William (Mary) Brown, Gail Hull (James Tarrance) and Robert H. Johnson, Jr., all of Salisbury; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; five siblings: David (Judy) Brown of Cambridge, Khaleeh "Daniel" Salaam of Salisbury, Madeline (Frank) Truitt of Wilmington, DE, Mary (William "Moody") Jones of Mardela Springs and Martha Baker of Arcadia, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ten siblings preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church where friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury.
