Martha L. Boone, 85, formerly of Vienna died Sunday, January 3, 2015 at Dorchester General Hospital- UMMS in Cambridge. She had made her home in Hurlock for the past three years.
Born in Virginia Beach, VA, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Blanche (Skinner) Boone. Her late husband Thomas H. Pinkett, Sr. died in 1984.
She retired from Dorchester County Service/Delmarva Community Services where she was a health aide. She was also formerly employed with the Dorchester County Extension Service as a home extension aide.
She was a longtime member of Wesley U.M. Church in Vienna, MD where she served as former president of the Usher Board, former president of the Senior Choir, member of the U.M.W. Administrative Council and former church sexton, to name a few. In the past two years she attended Hurlock United Methodist Church where she became a member.
Her survivors include seven children: Thomas, Sr. of Trenton, NJ, Tonya L. (Gerald) of Linkwood, MD, Thalbert (Wanda) of Vienna, MD; Marlowe (Paula) of Millsboro, DE, Theresa (Craig, Sr.) Hayes of Salisbury, MD, Lorrianne (Stevie) and Blanche L. Pinkett, all of Cambridge, MD; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Thomas and George (Elizabeth) Pinkett, one goddaughter: Dequata Hollis , several nieces and nephews.
A son, Anthony Pinkett preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Hurlock United Methodist Church, 502 S. Main Street, Hurlock where friends may view two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant U.M.C. Cemetery in Salem, MD.
