Salisbury – Mary Emily Satchell Jones, 87 died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at her home in Salisbury, MD.
Born in Belle Haven, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Reid) Satchell. Her late husband, Thomas Jones, Jr. died in 1956.
She was a dedicated member of the Cathedral of Restoration, formerly, Salisbury Revival Center in Salisbury, MD. She served as "church mother," head of the Intercessory Prayer Team, pianist for the Nursing Home Ministry and former leader of the Praise Team.
She retired as a seamstress after 25 years with the former Manhatten Shirt Factory in Salisbury.
Her survivors include four children: Debbie Harmon, Patricia, Alan and Kenneth (Karenna) Jones, all of Salisbury; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, one sister: Lucy Hull of Salisbury; two sisters-in-law: Edna Smith and Bertie Jones and several nieces, nephews, cousins and church family.
A son, Brock Satchell; four sisters: Gladys Jones, Alice Polk, Naomi Bivens and Mable Cisco; two brothers: Bernard and Amos Satchell and a son-in-law: Lloyd Harmon preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Greater Higher Hope Temple on Johnson Street in Salisbury. Friends may view, Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Cathedral of Restoration in Salisbury and on Saturday at Greater Higher Hope Temple, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park.
