Salisbury - Michael Clarence (Mitchell) Spence, 66 of Hamden Avenue in Salisbury, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield, he was the son of Dorena Spence Briscoe of Philadelphia and the stepson of the late Daniel Briscoe.
He was a member of Liberia United Methodist Church in Marion Station where he served on the Back Home Day committee.
He was employed as an electrician with the State of Maryland, D.O.C., in Baltimore. He was formerly employed with Sears Repair Center in Salisbury, Mailwell Graphics in Cambridge and the Solo Cup Factory in Federalsburg.
Besides his mother, other survivors include his wife Amanda Spence of Salisbury; three children: Sherry (James) Mills of Pocomoke City, MD; Michael and Michele Sampson Spence, both of Salisbury; five grandchildren, three sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A sister preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held noon, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Faith Community United Methodist Church in East New Market, Maryland. Interment will be in the East New Market Cemetery. Friends may call Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury, Monday, August 18, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday at the church from 11:00-12:00 noon.
