Morgan James Hudson, Sr., the son of the late Daniel Rudolph Hudson and Victoria Purnell Hudson was born on November 26, 1946 in Berlin, Maryland. He was one of eight children born to this union. He peacefully departed this earthly life and entered life eternal on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
His Christian training was received at St. Paul U.M. Church in Berlin where he attended with his parents as a youth.
Morgan received his formal education in the public schools of Worcester County. He was a 1966 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School where he excelled in track and field and set many records.
He became employed with Graterford Prison in Skippack, PA, retiring in 2006 after 17 years of service.
Morgan was a "people person," who never met a stranger. He had a giving spirit. You would often find him helping others, either by giving them a ride to their destination or giving money to those in need. He loved sports and mentoring the children at the high school. He would attend a lot of the high school games; including: boy's baseball and girl's lacrosse, encouraging the students to be the best they could be.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all. He leaves to cherish loving memories with four children: Morgan Hudson Jr. and Tija Gee, both of Berlin; Troy (Joanne) Hudson and Anisa Short, all of Philadelphia; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five siblings: Vivian Smith, Shirley Beckett, Oliver (Rose) Hudson, all of Berlin, MD; Clemmons (Julia) Hudson of Salisbury and Daniel (Lorraine) Hudson of Georgia. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
Two sisters: Catherine Purnell and Yvonne Collick preceded him in death.
