Oscar (O. J.) Drummond, Jr., 63 of Salisbury, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at PRMC in Salisbury.
Born in Accomac, VA, he was the son of the late Oscar Sr. and Sue (Wise) Drummond. He was reared by his aunt, Eleanor Wing of Baltimore, MD.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and served during the Vietnam War, receiving an honorable discharge in 1973.
He was formerly employed with the Campbell Soup Co, Inc. and the former E.S. Adkins Building and Supply, both of Salisbury; the City of Salisbury; Wicomico Housing Authority at Riverside Homes, Ace Hardware and the Wicomico County Board of Education as a school bus driver.
He was a member of St. Paul A. M. E. Zion Church in Salisbury, serving on the Men's and Gospel Choirs.
Besides his aunt, his survivors include his wife: Darlene Coulbourn Drummond of Salisbury; three children: Natasha (Kenny) Boyd of Baltimore, Oscar (LaShawnnia) Drummond, III of Easton and Tyarie Hutt of Salisbury; fourteen grandchildren; five siblings: Terry Keene and Brenda Cephas, both of Salisbury; Calvin of Delmar, MD and twins: Irvin (Valerie) of Princess Anne and Ervette Drummond of Baltimore; two other aunts and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Paul A. M. E. Zion Church, 410 Delaware Avenue, Salisbury, MD. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury and on Saturday, at the church, one hour prior to the service.
