Randolph "Junie" Joynes, 64, of Salisbury, Maryland, transitioned home on August 26, 2024, at the Coastal Hospice by the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born to the late Randolph Joynes Sr. and Edna Pearl Brown.
"Junie," as he was affectionately known by his family and "Salisbury" to his close friends. He was raised by several family members, including his uncle David, "Kilroy" Joynes, and aunts Lillian Justice, Annie Justice, and Lucille Justice. He also lived with his best friend, Jason Hall, and his grandmother, Hattie Matthews.
Junie attended Atlantic High School in Oak Hall, Virginia, and Jerusalem Baptist Church in Temperanceville, Virginia, as a youth. During his last days on earth, Junie looked forward to spending time with two of his favorite cousins, Maggie Joynes and Perry Justice. Junie worked as a chef for many years at various restaurants and truly enjoyed cooking.
Junie will be deeply missed by those who loved him. He leaves to treasure loving memories with his aunt, Mamie Joynes, and a host of cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Joynes Sr. and Edna Pearl Brown; two uncles, David "Kilroy" Joynes and James Joynes; five aunts, Lillian Justice, Annie Justice, Lucille Justice, Annabell Thompson, and Georgianna Joynes; and his best friend's grandmother, Hattie Matthews.
