Randy Lamont
Franklin
Jul 23, 1982 — Jun 30, 2026
In Loving Memory of Randy Lamont Franklin
Randy Lamont Franklin (“Bubba”) was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend whose vibrant personality, love of fashion, and devotion to his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Randy graduated from Glasgow High School in Newark, DE, in 2000. He participated in the U.S. Army JROTC, completing two tours in Bethany Beach while in high school. In 2002, he was accepted into a fashion school in California, reflecting his lifelong passion for style and design. Fashion was more than an interest to Randy, it was a gift. He had a remarkable eye for clothing and was well known for styling his mother, sister, and Aunt Cherie. He loved Beyoncé, music, and dancing, and his infectious energy brought joy wherever he went.
Randy worked for DART First State until his retirement in 2016. He later joined the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in the District of Columbia, where he worked until his medical retirement in 2019.
Those who knew Randy will remember his quick wit, sharp tongue, and generous heart. While he was known for being careful with his money, he never hesitated to give his last to someone in need. He also shared his love of singing in the choir at Collins Temple AME Church (Snow Hill, MD) and Mother African Union AME Church (Wilmington, DE). Above all, he adored his family and loved the Lord!
Randy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur O. Elliott and Aloma V. Elliott.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Latonya S. Franklin and Tony L. Franklin of Salisbury, MD; his grandparents, Clarence and Elizabeth Franklin of Salisbury, MD; his grandmother, Mary Stanley of Easton, MD; his brother, Christopher H. Stevenson, Jr. of Salisbury, MD; his sister, Lakesha Franklin Briddell of Stockbridge, GA; his brother, Devin Zupan of Accomack, VA; his beloved aunts, Faye Carson of Cordova, MD, and Cherie Franklin of White Marsh, MD; his uncles, Broderick Donaway Sr. of Cambridge, MD, Tyrone Franklin of Quantico, MD, and Maurice Franklin of Glen Burnie, MD; his niece, Zori “Doodles” Smack; his nephew, Arthur O. Briddell, affectionately known as “Baby Jesus”; his best friend, Ronald Brittingham of Washington, DC; his goddaughter, LaAsia Brittingham of Washington, DC; and a host of cherished great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Randy’s legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and unmistakable sense of style will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
