Renzilo Reginald Foxwell, Sr. began his life on earth January 17, 1929, in Norfolk, Virginia. After 92 years on earth, his work ended Sunday, September 5, 2021, at TidalHeath Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD.

Renzilo was a 1945 graduate of the former Salisbury Colored School. Upon graduation he matriculated at the former Bowie State Teachers College, now Bowie State University, in Bowie, MD with his B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. He received his master's degree at Columbia University in New York.

Renzilo met the love of his life, Naomi Peters, while attending Bowie State Teachers College. They were united in holy matrimony in 1950. The death of Naomi on April 23, 2018 ended over 68 years of marriage. From this union, they were blessed with three sons, Renzilo, Jr., Cornelius, and Fritz.

Renzilo's teaching career spanned over thirty-six years starting at Ridgely Elementary (Ridgely, MD), to Lockerman Elementary (Denton, MD), and ending at Salisbury Elementary (Salisbury, MD) where he was Principal for 17 years. He then moved onto the Wicomico County Board of Education as Superintendent of Title 1 and the Migrant programs. Upon retirement, he became employed with Shore-Up, Inc. as well as Wicomico County Parks and Recreation.

Renzilo had a passion for 3 C's: Children, Community and Church. Children were the "Center" of his life. He spent a great deal of his life being a role model and mentoring wayward children. He utilized his own sons as Boy Scout Leader for Troop #222, assisting in door to door selling of World Book encyclopedias, and involvement in sports at the Salvation Army and Y.M.C.A. His sons spent part of their summers in the schools he served removing storage and upgrading classroom instruction materials. Community: He served on the Board of Directors at the Y.M.C.A. and the Salvation Army, where he was a networker, assisting with the planning and construction of the new Richard Hazel Youth Center, Salisbury, MD. He was a member Wicomico County Retired Personnel Association, State of Maryland Retired Personnel Association, National Education Association, N.A.A.C.P. and a longtime member of Lamech Lodge #30, Salisbury, MD. Church: He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Hebron, MD where he was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the United Methodist Men.

Renzilo will be fondly missed by his two sons: Cornelius Foxwell, Media, PA, and Fritz Foxwell (Geneva Banks), Hebron, MD; five grandchildren, Travis, Mia, Jemal, Danielle and Miles; two great-grandchildren; seven nieces and one nephew.

Renzilo was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi, son Renzilo, Jr., daughter-in-law Joanne, and sibling Erma Fitchett.
